Jacqueline Bordé
I believe in massage as a practical approach to therapy, be it medical or emotional. And as a result, I strive to educate myself with new approaches toward illnesses and injury.
My desire is simple: to help my clients heal, manage chronic pain, relax. I love my work and have been a licensed massage therapist for 15 years.
SPECIALIZE IN:
Medical massage
Pain management
Deep tissue
Pre and post natal massage
Sports massage
Stress Reduction
I have been fortunate to:
1) Be injured. I was a dancer and for lack of medical insurance I turned to massage therapy to approach my injuries. For a time I had weekly massages and was astonished at how effective it was. I was able to continue to dance, manage my pain, and by the end of it feel much stronger and more integrated.
2) Work for years alongside an osteopath in a practice designed to cater to anyone receiving workman's comp. Most of our clients were hard laborers carrying injuries, who had never before received any bodywork. A team of practitioners (osteopath, massage therapist, and psychologist) saw each client daily until a desired goal was achieved. More often then not our clients attained better than expected results and were almost always able to resume work.
3) Give birth to my 2 children. My first was born in a hospital birthing center and my second was born at home. Both were incredibly informative experiences and very different from each other. This lead to a decision to pursue advanced training in pre and post natal care.

Reviews
"I have had many massages and to be completely truthful Jacqui has been the best. I travel a lot and I would have to say even spanning other continents…Asia, Australia, South America, Europe…Jacqui remains the best! It feels as if with little effort she goes to the place of need in your body, but even with deep pressure she applies, somehow the way she cradles your head lulls you into a calm that is almost as restorative as the massage itself." - Sarita Choudhury, actress
"Jackie helps me with post workout recovery, trigger points, and keeping plantar fasciitis at bay. She clears my lactic acid like nobody's business and keeps my usually tight left hip loose and functional. She truly has magic hands and keeps me in the game!" - Michael Connor, writer
"I have been seeing Jackie for over 10 years, but even from the first time she worked on me, Jackie had an intuitive sense of my body--what it needed, what was mis-aligned, tense or sensitive--and how to approach working on me. She is incredibly attuned to me and my body, and can sense how I am reacting to her work without my needing to tell her what to do. Her knowledge of anatomy and how the body works is impressive and I always enjoy learning something from her. Jackie is approachable, straightforward, empathetic, has a sense of humor, and I hope she never decides to leave New York. I always leave a session with her happier than when I arrived." - Joshua Katz, architect
'I was referred to Jacqueline as I sought relief and clarification of a long term, chronic back condition. Aside from her obvious expertise and broad knowledge I found her both empathetic and direct, always willing to go above and beyond to shed light on an issue. I have and will continue to recommend her." - Nikki Brady, creative director
I met Jacqui when I was several months pregnant and experiencing sciatica so severe it made walking to and from the subway unbearable and kept me up at night. When I started prenatal massage with Jacqui, I found relief: Jacqui has an intuitive awareness of my body that leaves me awestruck each time I see her. She is able to look at my body, hear my complaints, and articulate my pain and concerns in a way I'd struggled to do. She would also find spots that were inflamed or needed attention and would follow that line of muscle work through my whole body, often uncovering the source of the tension far from where I would've imagined it to be. As a pregnant person, she also empowered me and made me feel heard. She helped me to find strategies to deal with discomfort. She taught me a lot about where the baby was and how I could work with him to enjoy the physical aspects of pregnancy. I really would not have made it through pregnancy without her, and I channeled her advice and the safe, empowered feelings she shared with me all through the birthing process. I trust her implicitly and continue to be impressed by the breadth of her knowledge and her empathetic spirit. Laura Tisdel, editor.
